Johnson county historic poor farm - this program utilizes 160 acres of farmland in city limits to house several farm programs including a land access program, charitable food production areas, and garden education. More than 30,000 pounds of produce grown and distributed to several hunger relief agencies in johnson county.
Regional food initiative - iowa valley's overarching initiative to improve local and regional food system connections and opportunities. The iowa valley rc&d has contracts with usda to develop farm to school programs, provide food safety resources to area farmers, and social media coaching to farmers' market vendors and managers.
