Preserve 1866 landmark courthouse as well as promoting and preserving local history.

Put on programs covering topics relevant to society patrons: "one-on-one" workshops for genealogical research, conducted a local cemetery walk, hosted programs on doing genealogy research, homes in the area, and famous people.
Operating and maintaining the historical building while maintaining and displaying memorabilia of local history. Approximately 650 visitors came through the museum during the year. Building is usually open Monday through Friday, six hours per day, as well as the first Sunday of the month for three hours.
