Mission
Islah la is a beacon of light for the underserved in our south los angeles community.we provide services that revive, renew and restore growth in the community by way of needed programming that enables the community to thrive in accordance with islamic values.
Programs

Housing:islah la housing provides affordable, quality, supportive housing for those who would otherwise fall into homelessness.we operate a total of fifty beds at seven facilities with single and double occupancy,inclusive of utilities and wifi.our program supports any individual unable to sustain housing and facing homelessness,including a large number of formerly incarcerated individuals and refugees. Islah las holistic services also create a social enterprise to foster independence and break cycles of homelessness and recidivism. We currently house refugees from gaza,sudan,guinea,morocco,algeria,chad,egypt,mauritania,and ghana as well as many formerly incarnerated and disabled individuals facing homelessness.
Emergency financial assistance:our tayseer zakat assistance program provides emergency financial assistance to those facing dire financial situations,such as eviction or emergency medical bills.in 2023,we provided approximately $120,000 in financial assistance to individuals in extreme financial difficulty.we prevented evictions,assisted those overburdened with debt alleviated extremely high medical bills,housed families that were living out of their cars,and much more.our financial assistance is critical to prevent the cycles of homelessness and incarceration for those in the inner city.
Peace Pods: The Peace Pods Mental Wellness Program is Islah LAs initiative that directly addresses the mental health crisis in our community. Through our partnership with the GrateFULL Mind Center, Islah LA is able to provide licensed clinicians so that our community can finally begin the process of healing from deep-seated mental traumas and create a better environment for the future
