The summer youth employment program (syep), funded by the nyc department of youth and community development, provides new york city youth ages 14 and 15 with project-based learning activities and ages 16 to 24 with paid summer employment for six weeks in july and august. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs including: our education initiatives furthermore center on creating enjoyable activities within safe and nurturing environments, with a focus toward positive youth development. A. Government agencies b. Hospitals c. Summer camps d. Non-profits e. Small businesses f. Child care facilities g. Senior centers h. Sports enterprises i. Retail organizations

The work, learn & grow employment program (w.l.g), funded by the nyc department of youth and community development is designed to build off of the experiences gained in the summer youth employment program (syep). Wlg provides participants of the current syep year who are between the ages of 16-19 and are currently enrolled in school with paid employment opportunities for up to twenty three weeks from october to march. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs including: a. Government agencies b. Hospitals c. Non-profits d. Small businesses e. Sports enterprises f. Retail organizations
