GENERAL OPERATING SUPPORT

The grant provided students with a program of movement and theater exercises that incorporate health and fitness activities, encourage creativity, and stimulate collaborative interaction. The process-oriented sessions emphasize teamwork, the accumulation of skills over time and the mastery of basic movement concepts. The activities include locomotor movement such as running, galloping, sliding, skipping, hopping, jumping and combining these to increase coordination and strength. Personal/general space explorations include axial movement explored independently and with other class members such Shape-Chains, mirroring, follow-the-leader and partnering or other expressive movement activities that encourage creativity.
