Agriculture leadership activities the jefferson county farm bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural, civic, & community organizations. Leaders attend district, state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications, and agricultural activities.

Youth leadership development jefferson county farm bureau supports youth agriculture leadership activities both financially and with volunteer hours. The organization puts on a farm day where about 400 elementary age children get to visit a working farm and see what goes on daily on a farm. This is an eyeopening experience for these children to see where their food and fiber come from and how important agriculture is to our everyday lives.
