Resilient neighborhoods: resilient & safe neighborhoods support thriving businesses and residents. This is a fundamental component of jei's corridor and neighborhood improvement strategy. Jei monitors crime hotspots and develops community drive response to crime within the five neighborhoods that jei serves. Since 2013, jei has driven a 31% reduction in crime rates, implemented 137,689 public safety interventions including 4,900 domestic violence prevention activities and assisted more than 1,066 domestic violence victims in obtaining personal protection orders against their abusers. With the increase in climate induced disasters, jei now provides extensive disaster preparation and recovery training to neighborhood residents and business owners.

Resilient business: jei through direct activities and those of its development subsidiary seeks to support and develop inclusive and resilient neighborhoods and business districts that allow longtime detroiters to benefit from the city's resurgence. Jei works to support small businesses through our community tech worker program which has linked more than 1500 small business owners to specialized training to make their businesses more digitally resilient.
