At jfcs east bay, adult services provides a comprehensive range of support to approximately 1,000 older adults and their families, focusing on preserving dignity, independence, and community connections. We offer mental health services and support for adults of all ages, including those with developmental disabilities, individuals experiencing grief, and those coping with trauma. Our grief support services help individuals navigate the emotional challenges of bereavement, while we also provide counseling and emotional support to empower clients to age safely and with dignity, especially those with a history of trauma. For holocaust survivors, we connect them with social activities and offer emotional and logistical support, particularly for those seeking to engage with other survivors or needing assistance with caregiving or social connections. We also offer logistical and emotional support to family caregivers, helping them navigate the challenges of caring for an adult family member, including those with early-stage dementia, and we provide resources and tools for caregivers to manage their own well-being while supporting their loved ones. Additionally, we offer social support for neurodivergent adults and older adults within the jewish community, ensuring they have opportunities to connect and thrive.

Jfcs east bay's immigration legal services provides vulnerable immigrants and refugees with assistance in applying for asylum, citizenship, green cards, daca, visas, and other immigration remedies. We also offer removal defense services for immigrants facing detention and deportation. Our program includes legal services for afghan immigrants in the united states, legal services for immigrants pursuing a path to citizenship, legal services for immigrants facing deportation, and legal services for clients who need support to live with dignity. Each year, we serve approximately 2,000 immigrants and refugees. Services are available in spanish, farsi, dari, russian, and english

Jfcs east bay's children, youth & families program provides trauma-informed mental health support to marginalized children and their families, including home-based therapy and ongoing case management for children ages 0-8. We also offer mental health consultation to numerous under-resourced preschools, equipping teachers, administrators, and parents with strategies to effectively support children and families. Our services include social support for families navigating mental health needs and assistance for preschool classrooms, whether through school-wide mental health support or direct guidance for teachers supporting individual students. Our early childhood team has specialized expertise in addressing the effects of inequities and trauma. Each year, we serve approximately 2,000 children, along with their parents and teachers. Our home care services provide compassionate, non-medical care to 110 seniors and individuals recovering from surgery or hospitalization, supporting their ability to live with dignity. Our geriatric social workers provide added oversight through home visits and advocacy, offering culturally sensitive care that incorporates jewish traditions. We assist with care management and referrals for adults over 55, providing guidance on accessing needed services and resources. For individuals with a history of trauma, we empower them to age safely and with dignity, addressing health, income, mobility, and mental health challenges. Additionally, we provide support to caregivers of adult family members, especially those caring for older adults with early-stage dementia, helping them manage the emotional and logistical challenges of caregiving. Our volunteer services engage over 400 community members in supporting newly arrived refugees, homebound seniors, holocaust survivors, and other adults in need of social or emotional support.
