Jwa's rising voices fellowship, now in its 12th year as a national program, provides training and mentorship to a select, national cohort of female-identified and non-binary teens who learn leadership skills through in-person and virtual retreats and monthly discussions on feminism, judaism, and social justice. The program strengthens their communication and thought-leadership skills through writing for our blog and syndication partners. Fellows come from diverse locations and backgrounds, and the skills they develop through exploring identity within a pluralistic community prepare them to be strong and effective 21st-century leaders. Jwa continues to offer support to the active alumnae community of more than 180 graduates, who are taking on issues such as sexual consent in jewish youth groups, climate change, and antisemitism with boldness and clarity, exemplifying the impact of jwa's training.

Jwa's newest fellowship is the pomegranate writing fellowship for jewish women of color, a year-long program that provides jewish women writers of color thesupport, mentorship, and communitythey need to deepen their writing practice and develop into communal thought leaders. The fellowship's pilot cohort includes five fellows selected from a pool of 120 applicants; each fellow is matched with a mentor. The fellows, mentors, and pomegranate advisory council members form a dynamic network of jewish women writers of color that will continue to grow in the program's future years.
