Mission
The organization supports programs for the prevention and treatment of, and education regarding substance abuse disorder in youth and adults.
Programs
1 program
Education and research into the treatment of youth and young adults with drug related illnesses. A grant provided funding to educate and train 100 of the city of chicago's leading substance use treatment providers on the benefits of medically assisted treatment. The city anticipates a resultant reduction in opioid overdoses and deaths thanks to the enhanced understanding and availability of this treatment option. The organization also works with schools to provide an anonymous text-communication system for students to send a text message to a secure, dedicated number and receive an immediate response. Students also can anonymously text about themselves, expressing substance use or mental health concerns. The organization provides speeches, meetings and presentations discussing substance use disorders in order to educate others and provides programmatic support to organizations for substance use prevention and treatment.
