The organization has been established and operates for the sole purpose of providing scholarships. The organization has been established and operates for the sole purpose of providing scholarships. Each year 4 scholarships are awarded. One in the amount of 5000, which is awarded as 1,250 a year for 4 years. 4000, which is awarded as 1,000 a year for 4 years. 1000, one time award 500, one time award these scholarships are awarded to students entering their first year in college. The student will remain eligiable for the four years as long as the student is meeting the academic criteria. An eligible recipiant must attend a college or technical school withn the united states. There are no restrictions or limitation on eligibility based upon race or employment status of recipient, however a parent or grandparent of the recipiant must be a member of local union 3 i.b.e.w., afl-cio. Reciepiants of scholarships are in no way selected on employment status of the applicant or employment status
