JA BizTown - JA BizTown allows students to put their classroom learning to work as they practice decision-making and learn about leadership and teamwork. Students discover the real-life opportunities available in the free enterprise system, as they become business operators, taxpayers, and lawmakers of JA BizTown. In addition, JA BizTown helps teach basic math, economics, technology, social studies, and reading and writing concepts in a way that is fun for students.

Expenses: $862KGrants: $260K

JA JobSpark - JA JobSpark is a hands-on two-day career expo for 8th graders. The event is meant to "spark" an interest in students and get them excited for their future. Students learn about skills needed for jobs that will be in demand when they graduate, while utilizing equipment that is used in those jobs daily. They will have a better understanding of the courses they would need to take in high school, a track for post-secondary education, and a clear career pathway for what they find they are interested in.
