Mission
Justice for Keith LaMar is a charitable organization dedicated to assisting wrongfully-convicted citizens in their fight to prove their innocence and is committed to restorative work to help heal broken communities. We also support educational preventative endeavors for at-risk youth through an arm of our organization through the Native Sons Literacy Project. This year we have managed to complete an animated documentary for our flagship case (Keith LaMar) and created opportunities for him to engage with news outlets, audiences, and classrooms of students. Further, we have supported fundraisers aimed at repairing communities (Ivery Dorsey, Nipsy Hussle Runn, the Cottle family, for example) in keeping with our purpose statements. Additionally, JFKL's Native Sons Literacy Project which began a scholarship in 2023, awarded 3 more college-bound high school seniors and essay finalists financial support. We have tripled our support for young scholars since last year.
