The foundation continually works with the kansas department of wildlife and parks longside education, conservancy, restoration, sportsmen and other outdoor groups to identify projects and needs in fulfillment of the foundation's dedication to conserving and perpetuating the land, the wild species, and the rich beauty of kansas for the use and enjoyment of all. These other projects have included wetland restoration, nature trail interpretive signage and fisheries habitat improvement.

Expenses: $120K

The okkids program was created in 2001 to help encourage kids in getting back to the outdoors, learning about the environment. Since its inception, more than 87,000 children and adults have participated at day-long events held at more than 58 sites around the state of kansas. The outdoor games and activities range from fishing derbies and clinics to archery, horseshoes, volleyball, sack races, bird watching and birdhouse building, hiking, bike safety clinics, and outdoor cooking contests, to name a few popular events. At the end of the day, kids go home with a new t-shirt and prizes donated by program sponsors. All events are free and many include a hot dog lunch or other meal.
