KPWB conducts, sponsors, or participates in educational and promotional events throughout the county that specifically target recycling education like the annual Fix-It-Fair and distribution of the County's recycling guide. Utilization, educator hours, and individual reach data is collected and reported to PWC and Virginia DEQ.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH: Keep Prince William Beautiful Educational Outreach programs incorporate Virginia Department of Education Standards of Learning (SOL) and Prince William County Schools (PWCS) teacher lesson plans and are applied to topics of recycling, litter, climate resiliency, water quality and environmental sustainability. Individual presentations are developed or customized for outreach events at civic organizations, senior centers, community partner events, business events, public events and PWCS classrooms with the goal of educating and advocating for individual behavior change. KPWB manages a website and Community Calendar of Environmental Events to share all of the environmental educational, volunteering and professional development opportunities across the county to promote environmental literacy.
