Kfc family fund: this crisis assistance program is available to kfc u.s. Restaurant employees who have been directly impacted by a severe hardship, crisis, or catastrophic incident that was beyond their control. The purpose of the program is to provide temporary, limited financial relief. While money can't eliminate the sorrow, it can hopefully eliminate some of the added stress that often accompanies it. In 2024, the family fund provided relief to 156 team members. Since this program began in december 2015, it has provided over $2,152,000 to team members in need.
Kentucky fried wishes: kfc restaurant team members can nominate their local irc § 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for a $10,000 kentucky fried wishes grant to fund an actionalble project on its wish list. In 2024, the kfc foundation granted 97 kentucky fried wishes grants.
Ged program: for kfc restaurant employees who did not graduate from high school, the ged program is a pathway to achieving their dreams. Every eligible kfc restaurant employee who seeks ged assistance is admitted into this free, all-inclusive program that provides unlimited access to ged preparation and testing. Offered in both english and spanish, the ged program includes a test pass guarantee and a personal ged advisor who is with the employee-student every step of the way. Participants without personal computers are also provided a laptop and internet access to ensure that they can study on their own and complete their ged. 71 participants earned their geds in 2024. Financial literacy: this program provides an online platform for kfc employees to use to grow their financial know-how, build a savings habit and boost their savings. The foundation also offers a biannual savings match where each employee receives up to $260 in matched savings. In 2024, we awarded $313,695 in matched savings. Mental health support: we office a confidential crisis text line for free 24/7 text-based mental health support and crisis intervention for the kfc family.
