Kevins Song A Nonprofit For Community Education On Depression

Community outreach: the loss survivor support group continued to meet twice a monththroughout the year. The meetings were held virtually on the first wednesdayand third thursday of each month. Additional facilitators were trained and co-facilitate the meetings with the head facilitator. The number of attendees varies from 5 10 for each session.each month kevins song produces a newsletter that is sent out in an e-blast thatreaches over 3,200 people. It is an excellent tool for keeping people abreast of the activities that kevins song is engaged in, for providing news about developments in suicide prevention, focusing on our board members, advisors, volunteers, etc., aswell as highlighting each month a loved one lost to suicide. The newsletter alsofeatures a book related to important topics such as dealing with the death of aloved one to suicide.kevins song maintains a social media presence with frequent posts about mental health and suicide prevention on facebook, instagram, and linkedin reaching thousands of people monthly.in may of 2024, four nonprofits, care of southeast michigan, corewell health, the family center and detroit wayne integrated health network, joined forces to sponsor a walk at grosse pointe south high school, and raised money for kevins song. The walk involved high school students, as well as parents and community members who joined together to focus on mental health and suicide prevention. It was entitled walking to save lives. It gave kevins song an opportunity to showcase its mission in the community.
