To educate and instruct members in the traditions, customs and ideals of the american people and in the qualifications and duties of american citizenship; to promote a progressive and forward looking spirit among the members for the purpose of advancing the general welfare of themselves and their fellow citizens of washington county and the sub-divisions thereof; to cultivate social enjoymnet among the members by means of lawful forms of entertainment and for these purposes, to own real estate and personal property and to maintain club rooms where members may meet and enjoy the society, fellowship and friendship of each other.
