Mission

Kindred matters is a non-profit corporation created with the intent of supporting, serving and advocating on behalf of separated siblings and foster care providers in the state of oregon. Our mission is to create positive outcomes for oregon children through shaping strong family relationships in the absence of a traditional family environment.

Programs

2 programs

Family camp programs: we once again hosted two sessions of family camp in 2024. This proved to be successful with our first session increasing in attendance from 2023 and our second session being our largest session of family camp to date. Both sessions include continuing education training opportunities for providers (foster/resource, adoptive parents, kin, etc) with childcare provided during training, along with designated time for family connection and community building .

Expenses: $78K

Kinnect programs: we continue to host our in person kinnect events in 2024. These programs take place in the central oregon, eugene, salem and portland areas. These programs provide opportunities during the school year for siblings who live separately and the families they reside with to come together to connect outside of an office setting and participate in engaging activities to support the sibling and family relationship consistently.
