Personal support services refer to the provision of personal assistance, stand-by assistance, supervision or cues for persons with inability to perform one or more of the following basic activities of daily living (adl's): eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, transferring in/out of bed and/or chair, ambulating, and instrumental activities of daily living (iadl's) such as light housekeeping. Extended personal support services provide personal support services over an extended period of time in a home setting which may also include relief of the person(s) normally providing care and/or oversight. We specialize in servicing ethnically diverse populations, having connections to different cultural communities to pair an aid with a client of the same culture if that is the client's preference to ensure the caregiver and the aid can communicate in the same language, can understand each other's cultural norms for adls, meals, and social interaction. Our aids assist with translating for the clients as well for appointments, documents, phone calls, etc.
