Mission
The Center is a haven of opportunity for the aging in the community to continue independent, healthy, and meaningful lives. Senior citizen activity offering programs, classes, discussion groups, exercise, hot meals, transportation and socialization for seniors.
Programs
2 programs
General Health & Wellness program: The Kinship Center provided over 1,250 hours of health and wellness opportunities to over 130 senior adults aged 60+. Activities through this program service include: daily exercise, hot meals as a congregate meal site, therapeutic arts, music, activity clubs, field trips.
Transportation program: The center provided over 300 person-trips monthly 3,600 trips annually to over 40 seniors to bring them to/from the center, on field trips, on weekly grocery store trips, monthly shopping trips to Walmart and dollar stores. Funding sources include individual donations, St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church and New Orleans Council on Aging.
