Mission

we are dedicated to providing a sanctuary space for animals who have been rescued from abuse and neglect and an educational center that provides workshops classes and individual opportunities for people to reconnect with nature and the natural world.

Programs

a two day program offered to help participants deal with trauma stress and nature deficit disorder. Healing touch with horses HeartMath and other tools were shared. We offered individual retreats with the horses and in nature. these were done for free with the option to help work on the farm as a volunteer. Participants included those working through grief drug alcohol addiction and other life challenges. We provided a 3-day series on careers in animal welfare and land conservation to a local Montessori school that included equine care and permaculture principles for land management. We also coordinated with our local vet to provide a hands on experience for participants to learn about equine dentistry and basic preventative care.

we initiated training in homeopathic and other complementary therapies for improved equine health and continue to work with our horses to help them feel safe enough to be co-teachers in our programs that we hope to offer in 2026. Peggy Hilden has initiated training for a program called Connected Horse which provides programs for people who are newly diagnosed with dementia and their care partners. We will be pursing approval to be approved as a site to offer the program once we complete more fencing projects and have the appropriate number of horses to offer the program. Weve also been approached to create a program with the horses for middle school students to help understand boundries and issues such as appropriate and respectful physical contact with others.
