To provide funds for various charitable organizations. 73 different organizations operating primarily within the state of idaho and other western states were recipients of grants. Over 75 individual grants were awarded to provide support for general operations and specific projects. Of these almost 50 were awarded for health and wellness, 9 for educational and economic opportunities and 15 for community benefit. The remaining grants were for arts and culture, environment, housing stability and animal welfare.
To provide scholarships for individuals outside of norco, inc's employees and the children of norco, inc.'s employees. 44 educational scholarships were provided directly to educational institutions for the benefit of specific individuals. These scholarships were awarded through a competitive process where applicants must meet certain criteria such as gpa, applying to accredited educational institutions, and sophomore or higher college status to be considered for a scholarship.
