Mission
The kokrobitey institute facilitates projects and programs that demonstrate the intersections between art, culture, design, health, sustainable development and education through literacy. We define literacy as the ability to read, write and comprehend the written and spoken word. We also define literacy as the ability to read the world, to be equipped with the cultural knowledge that allows communities to thrive in a sustainable environment.

Internships & residencies funds used for feeding and accommodations of interns and residents
We currently have our team working on a number of projects, creating resource centers in rural communities, developing educational tools and programming, chronicling traditional skills in a variety of mediums (audio, visual) and developing products in our design center adding value to recycled materials.
