On november 15-17, we hosted the 2024 hawaii state gymnastics championship. This championship provided a professional, safe environment for 180 athletes. There were teams from all around the islands, including oahu, kauai, hawaii and maui. This was a three-day event which included over 350 in the audience and 12 judges from around the islands. All athletes were given gifts, t-shirts, trophies and medals and included every participant in every age group. We had 64 volunteers to help run this event. They also received a volunteer t-shirt. We provided transportation, housing and meals for all judges and officiates of the event. Our athletes excelled, taking all-around trophies as well as individual events in all their age groups. Our girls also won their age divisions. We provided a safe, fun, successful and productive state meet for all involved.

Each year we participate in two international competitions. These competitions are held on oahu on consecutive weekends. The first is gymnastics in paradise. This meet hosts approximately 600 athletes from around the world. It is very common for australia, japan, finland, canada, england and other international teams to be represented along with many mainland teams. The following weekend is the aloha gym fest. This competition has been running for approximately 49 years now and this year accommodated approximately 800 athletes from around the world. In attendance were japan, canada, new zealand, australia and many other teams from the mainland to name a few. The wealth of experience that these competitions brought to our girls from this little club on the big island is invaluable. We brought 15 girls to this competition fully funded. Both outer island and mainland meets are very expensive with airfares, ground travel expenses, meet fees and meals for not just the athletes and their families as well.
