Preserve the mardi gras traditions: the saturday before mardi gras, the krewe of hephaestus will hold an annual mardi gras ball, where its members and guests participate in a mardi gras revelry at the morgan city auditorium from 7 pm until 2 am. The monday before mardi gras, the krewe holds a chili party for its members and court at a member's home or business. On mardi gras day the krewe and its guest riders parade through the streets of morgan city throwing trinkets and other items to the general public. The parade begins at 2 pm running through approximately 4:30 pm where it ends at the morgan city municipal auditorium where it's members and guests have an after parade dance and social. On the twelfth night after christmas, the krewe generally holds a queen's party where the queen invites the court and her guests to celebrate the beginning of mardi gras season.
