Mission

The mission of Kulia Academy is to prepare a diverse student population for success in college and beyond. Our goal is to educate future contributors to society by offering a comprehensive learning experience that meets the needs of our students through effective site-based instruction, rich hands-on learning, and foundational skills presented in ways that are both relevant and inspiring.

Harold K.L Castle Grant. With support from the Harold K.L. Castle Foundation, Kulia Education Foundation advanced the marketing and staff recruitment efforts necessary to launch Kulia Academy, a public charter school focused on IT skills and project-based learning. Activities included promotional campaigns and hiring key personnel to ensure a strong school opening and alignment with academic goals for underserved students in Kalihi.

Kosasa Foundation Grant. Through a grant from the Kosasa Foundation, Kulia Education Foundation supported the development of Kulia Academy, Hawaiis first public charter school with a focus on computer science and artificial intelligence. Grant funds were used to strengthen school readiness and community engagement leading up to the Academys August 2024 opening.
