Community activities support. Under our Community Needs Grants program each year we solicit non-profits in our area to submit applications for one-time grants for articles or services to improve their programs. We have a committee that evaluates these applications then makes recommendations to the board on funding to be provided. We provide sight and hearing testing for children at most schools in the county. We operate a medical equipment loan program for those in need of such equipment. We provide grants to local free medical clinics the county library the local volunteer fire department etc.

Local food and utilities support to the needy. We operate the Wilderness Food Pantry. We provide food weekly to about 185 families over 580 people. We distribute over 100 tons of food and over 3,000 hours of volunteer time. The Foundations two part-time employees are at the pantry. Our Community Emergency Services Committee does grants to provide rent and utilities support to people in danger of losing their homes or having their utilities disconnected. We provide gift cards to needy families at Christmas.

In addition to the major programs already described we donate our local school system to support clubs and activities and to various local state and national charities. We also have a program to recycle eye glasses.
