The charity care lakeview provides enables residents to remain on campus and receive services that would otherwise be provided by the greater community. In this way, lakeview partners with the community to assure residents' needs are met without burdening the wider community with additional costs for those services. Additionally, residents and employees provide community benefit through volunteerism and support of numerous community activities. The organization has estimated its direct and indirect costs of providing charity care under its financial assistance policy. In order to estimate the cost of providing such care, management has used actual costs and operational projections. Using this methodology, the organization has estimated the costs foregone for services and supplies furnished under the organization's financial assistance policy aggregated approximately $230,000 and $224,000 for the years ended december 31, 2024 and 2023, respectively.
