Free after school programs (el jardin, robotics, pet therapy, rockband): lc3 operated free after school programs, focused on student interest areas, while also providing college and career mentoring for students. The program supports our mission by inspiring and mentoring the youth of the wakefield community to be engaged in their community, explore their interests, and discuss college and career goals.for the free after school programs (el jardin, robotics, art, pet therapy, rockband): 145 students served- el jardin: 30; robotics: 50; art: 15; pet therapy: 30; rockband: 20. - students attend the program of their choice weekly during the academic year- students attended consistently through the year. Pet therapy and art needed two sessions to serve all students interested.- students worked with high school mentors, college interns and instructors to explore new interest areas, spend time with peers, and begin discussions that were content focused as well as individualized college and career advising.- students participated in end of year celebrations.

College and career advising: through college and career advising, lc3 addressed the lack of individualized college advising and college planning. Our students are invited to ask questions, receive guidance, talk with current college students, and create a financial plan to be successful in higher education. The program contributes to our mission by equipping students to reach their secondary education and career goals.for college and career advising: - approximately 40 students benefitted- college visits to arizona state university- college essay workshops- fall and spring senior nights- individual advising appointments; advising on financial aid, understanding college admission policies.
