Mission
Larraine segil scholars foundation has been established to provide mentoring to exceptional women in order to encourage their education and growth so that they may reach their full potential and, in so doing, positively impact their communities and inspire future generations of women and girls to do the same. Each year, larraine segil scholars foundation hopes to select 20 or more women as larraine segil scholar awardees (the "awardees"). Awardees will be selected from women who defy societal expectations, walk the road less traveled, may be square pegs trying to fit round holes, and live a life of integrity. They will be nominated by community organizations, such as black women who code and the east los angeles community foundation. Each awardee will be paired with a larraine segil scholar (a "scholar"), who will mentor her awardee during one-year period.
