Engaged Latina Leadership Activist (ELLA) - ELLA is a six-month development program tailored for Latinas ages 19-29, offering leadership training, civic engagement workshops, mentoring, and a cohort-based capstone project on community issues. In 2024, the program included a three-day leadership retreat, civic training sessions, participation in Latina Action Day (Sacramento), and presentation of a collective community benefit project. This cohort joined a network of more than 280 alumni over the program's 16-year history. ELLA's blend of advocacy education and peer mentorship supports the next generation of Latina civic leaders
Policy, Advocacy, Leadership in Action (PALA) - PALA is a three-day intensive boot camp held twice annually-once in winter and once in spring-focused on policy advocacy, civic engagement, and pathways to leadership. In 2024, PALA trained cohorts in areas such as engaging with elected officials, running for office, understanding government structures, media advocacy, coalition building, and serving civic boards. Alumni gained confidence, policy knowledge, and access to networks that support decisions in public leadership and community advocacy roles.
Chispanas offers a biweekly shared space and organizing training for Latina community members in Santa Clara County. In 2024, Chispanas participants co-designed and engaged in advocacy training tailored to address community-level challenges. The program emphasizes mutual learning, power-building, and mobilization around local civic issues. By centering Latina voices through collective strategy and organizing campaigns, Chispanas ignites grassroots leadership and fosters community-driven social change.
