Women in power: women in power grew into an even stronger ecosystem for women balancing caregiving, work, and entrepreneurship. Membership reached 794, creating a supportive peer network that shares real strategies and accountability. Our three-session hablar con confianza series concluded with an inspiring in-person gathering and engaged about 250 participants across the series. Sessions focused on communication, leadership, access to capital, web presence, social media, and effective networking. The single mothers business owners track provided tailored coaching that respected time constraints and prioritized income stability and confidence building. Participants left with clearer goals, better digital tools, and a circle of peers to lean on. The program's momentum and outcomes contributed directly to lbfsv being named california's nonprofit of the year.
Business academy: in partnership with santa clara university's mobi, the latino business academy delivered our 12-module curriculum in english and spanish with individualized coaching to ensure completion and practical application. We increased to four cohorts this year to meet demand. The final class met in person and doubled as a peer networking session hosted by mobi at scu, strengthening relationships that continue beyond graduation. We held two joyful graduation ceremonies honoring persistence and progress. In 2024 the academy celebrated 997 graduates, each advancing with a stronger business plan, clearer compliance steps for licensing and permits, and better cash-flow practices. Throughout the year we complemented coursework with 13 targeted workshops, including california digital coach from grow with google, redes sociales para mi negocio, construyendo una base financiera, mehko, and small business taxes. These integrated offerings reflect the quality and impact recognized through our california nonprofit of the year 2024 award.
Other: various other supporting programs including the virtual business incubator and business council to further providing high quality services and resources to improve the business community.
