Empowering communities - comprehensive leadership training, organizational development and capacity building programs and workshops to promote the cultivation of new community leaders, to strengthen the effectiveness of existing community-based organizations and to establish a supportive network for mutual assistance, resource sharing and collaborative problem solving. In 2024, programs included 1) leap hybrid virtual/in-person impact designed to strengthen the capacity of diverse nonprofit organizations by providing api senior staff for future and current leadership and management roles in nonprofit organizations. Participants included 16 api senior managers. Each participant gained 40 hours of leadership development training and 8 hours of executive coaching. An impact alumni event was delivered for 26 individuals in chicago with the current year cohort at the conclusion of the in-person session. 2)leap delivered a hybrid/in-person engage program for 12 nonprofit executive directors from across the usa. Each executive director also received eight hours of executive coaching. Their final project was a simulation to present a "pitch" to a panel of the engage program sponsors and community funders. 3)leap emerge, 14 college students participated in a paid eight-week hybrid in-person and virtual summer internship program designed to develop young leaders with practical leadership skills. The summer interns spent 200 hours over eight-weeks in leadership training and hands-on experience at identified community-based organizations. As part of the program, interns collaborated on a group project to create a documentary letters to our people which highlighted intergenerational storytelling between those community members impacted by u.s. Imperialism and militarism. The cohort also hosted an in-person and virtual viewing of the documentary for an audience of 50 community leaders. Donated in-kind services for travel $15,079
