Mission

Building a better maryland takes a special kind of strength-the kind of strength you'll find every day in leaders throughout our local businesses and communities. At leadership maryland, we harness that strength by bringing together local leaders from all sectors, industries, and geographic regions of our state-people with a passion for making maryland the best place to work and live. Together, we engage on the vital issues affecting our state and work to build solutions for real, actionable change.

Programs

2 programs

Maryland leadership workshops provides peer led leadership training for middle and high school students through summer and periodic outreach programs. Participants in the 2022 summer program, numbering 119, included middle and high school students from the mid-atlantic region and beyond who took part in three different leadership programs. This number was down from pre-pandemic years due to an effort to limit participants for health and safety concerns related to the covid pandemic which were still lingering with parents at that time. Participants in the periodic outreach programs, numbering 90, included tailored leadership experiences for middle and high school students across maryland.

Expenses: $249K

Leadership marylands emerging leader program brings together a class of up to 40 rising stars from our states public, private, government, education, and nonprofit sectors and gives them the skills and tools they need to advance in their careers. Selected participants will complete a six-month program (june november) of monthly learning sessions guided by a facilitator and leaders from various industries around the state.
