Mary lamon memorial fund: through partnership with medical city children's hospital in dallas, the mary lamon memorial fund makes it possible for children with the most complex craniofacial surgical needs to travel to the united states to receive medical and surgical care. Many of the children served by leap have such severe craniofacial conditions that they have been abandoned as infants or sent to palliative care facilities. Leap covers the travel and surgical costs of the patients and also coordinates host families who will offer these children a loving and safe environment while they heal. Through this program, leap has performed reconstructive surgery on approximately 50 patients from 15 countries. In 2024, funding from this program helped a child from cuba receive much-needed surgical care. Through this program, leap has also pledged future funding for the construction of a pediatric ward at our partner hospital in belize.

Expenses: $3K

Cheryl lamon memorial program: in 2019, through the generosity of a donor, leap created the cheryl lamon memorial program. This program has two initiatives. Firstly, this program provided financial support to casa josefina, an orphanage in cusco, peru, and its related medical clinic, la fuente centro de salud integral. In addition, this program brings patients from other countries to the united states for complex surgical care or other health-related issues which cannot be treated in their home country. In 2024, funding from this program helped patients from nicaragua and india receive much-needed surgical care.

Expenses: $47K

Mary's gift: mary's gift is done in partnership with the ministry of health of belize, northern regional hospital, and the rotary club of orange walk that offers comprehensive care to children with cleft lip and/or palate living in belize. Support to children and families in belize includes: feeding instructions for newborns, preparation for surgery, surgical intervention, education about speech and hearing development, and dental care. This program also involves training seminars for medical professionals.
