Humane education-leavenworth county humane society offers a variety of presentations for school groups, community groups, and adult groups. School programs are based on curriculum developed by the american humane association, aspca, the denver dumb friends league, best friends animal society, humane society youth, and the latham foundation for promotion of humane education. School programs focus on teaching understatnding animal behavior, caring for animals, safety with animals, working with animals, and the role of animals in human lives. Programs for community groups include an introduction to lchs, and the status of animals in leavenworth county, safety with animals, disaster planning, and the link between animal abuse & domestic violence.
