Civil Legal Service - to provide legal assistance for persons meeting financial eligibility requirements or having other special needs in civil cases that deal with eviction and child support, etc.

IOLA funds - Helps support our core program of legal services to the general poverty population.

LSC - Committed to helping persons meeting financial eligibility requirements or having special needs vindicate their rights under the law. It provides free legal services in thousands of cases each year as well as legal support to not-for-profit organizations, agencies and community based organizations that work with persons in need.

Foreclosure Prevention Project - provides homeowners who are victims of unfair or fraudulent practices to avoid foreclosure and remain in their homes.

DAP - Provides legal assistance to low income clients in matters relating to SSI (Supplementary Security Income) and SSD (Social Security Disability). DAP is funded only to represent clients in receipt of public assistance who need to establish that they are disabled in order to obtain SSI or SSD. The representation may be at a Social Security Administration (SSA) hearing, at the Appeals Council or in federal court.

Ryan White - Assists HIV-infected people and their families with a wide range of legal problems, including public benefits, housing, consumer and family matters; discrimination issues; access to health care and planning for the future through wills, guardianships and advance directives for medical treatment.

Mental Health - assists persons with a history of serious mental illness primarily in matters of public benefits, health care and housing.

Other Programs

Senior Citizen - provides legal representation, advice and referrals to Nassau county seniors relating to health care, wills and future planning concerns.

David Project - assists HIV - infected persons and their families on issues affecting public benefits, housing, and health care and planning for the future through wills, guardianships and advance directives for medical treatment.
