Mission

The lgbt center of greater reading creates, administers, and provides services, advocacy, and support to the greater reading lgbtq+ community, including our allies, with the goal that all may live a life of fulfillment, inclusion, and celebration.

Our food pantry continued to serve as a vital lifeline for lgbtq+ individuals and families facing food insecurity. Over the past year, we distributed food to 2,424 unique households, many of whom experience barriers to accessing traditional food support. The pantry is an affirming space where clients could access healthy food, hygiene products, and resources.

Expenses: $146K

This year, our counseling department experienced tremendous growth in both reach and impact. We provided over 300 hours of affirming mental health services to lgbtq+ individuals and their families, offering support for issues such as identity, trauma, discrimination, and overall well-being. With a focus on accessibility, we expanded our sliding scale options, and strengthened our partnerships with county agencies to serve underinsured and uninsured clients.
