Advocacy for Affordable Housing: In June, 2024, LIFE held a prayer vigil outside of a Fort Myers City Council meeting. 30 LIFE members attended the meeting after the prayer vigil to support the City Councils decision to use $1.15 million in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to help fund 230 units of affordable housing for individuals making 80% or less of Area Median Income.
Leadership development: 16 one-on-one meetings were held with local clergy members of multiple denominations throughout 2024. LIFE held a Clergy Caucus in October, 2024 with local clergy members for leadership training and a discussion of community issues. LIFE held a Team Leader Training in November, 2024. Leaders learned how to build organized networks in their communities and churches so that they can successfully convince policy and decision makers to address community problems.
