Within the scope of its mission and vision, the board of directors sometimes approves funding for specific initiatives, outside the normal grant-making cycle, to service identified areas of need. During 2024, the dental hygiene initiative was again funded at 50,128 to provide dental hygiene services in a school-based dental clinic, a mobile unit, and an on-campus clinic at ulm.

During 2024, the school based health center initiative was funded at 300,000 to place three new clinics in richland parish, to fund contributions of a new building at the downsville clinic in quachita parish, and to expand services at another clinic in richland parish.
