Family Support Services and Human Concerns operates the Food Pantry and emergency assistance to the public. It also provides an extensive variety of programs intended to assist families with reunification and prevent child abuse and neglect. Family counseling Parenting and Case management is offered in the clients homes in both English and Spanish. Anger management and Parenting classes are offered throughout Ocean County. The Auto Ownership Program assists those in need of transportation to find employment. When possible the programs listed will work together to provide a total service that exceeds what any program could on its own. In Home visits and certain other services are being provided virtually when possible.

Children Services operates a preschool and a summer camp with high quality developmentally appropriate programs for children aged 13 months to thirteen years old in a safe and nurturing environment. The preschool is a 4 Star Rated Grow NJ Kids Program. Our goals are to promote educational emotional and social development of children while meeting the needs of their families and to employ and retain staff that are well-trained in early childhood education. The preschool serves 60 children children on a typical day and the summer vacation club serves about 80.

The Educational & Career Services Dept is comprised of 4 programs to equip Ocean County residents with the academic and professional skills necessary for self-sufficiency effective parenting and workforce competence. The RISE program offers year-round classes in ABS High School Diploma and ESL primarily referred by Ocean County One Stop. This program enrolls approx. 100 students annually with virtual or in-person classes held M-F. These services extend to the WorkFirst NJ population also referred by One-Stop supporting 400 students each year. Services includes basic skills life and job readiness training occupational education and community work experience. All programs are grant funded by the Dept of Human Svcs and come at no cost to the participants. A new Senior Employment Assistance program launched in 2023 funded through ARPA and assists those aged 55+ seeking to reenter the workforce or start a new career. The newest initiative the Digital Equity Program funded by the NJDOL serves approximately 62 participants with comprehensive training in digital literacy and industry-valued credentials while equipping participants with the skills confidence and tools necessary to thrive in todays workforce.

The Center operates one indoor and two outdoor swimming pools offering a wide variety of swim classes as well as competitions. Several local school districts use the indoor pool for physical education classes and team sports. Basketball recreation leagues as well as instructional camps are held. Gymnastics Baseball and Basketball camps are held annually. The Center sponsors the annual Long Beach Island 18 Mile Run in commemoration of the athletes killed in the Munich Olympics.

The Senior Services Program serves approximately 3,829 elderly clients increase of 754 during this year delivering 16,614 units of service. Of this total 219 are impoverished 2,050 are frail or disabled and 2,699 would be classified as vulnerable or socially isolated. The clients have available to them access and assistance with information about benefits and entitlements phone calls made to check on them daily. Assistance is given to help the elderly recognize the need for medical care and physical fitness. Socialization recreation and education are provided.
