To assist persons in the long island, new york, area who are unable to overcome life's special challenges, such as poverty, disability or illness, and to assist united states armed services veterans in the long island area and/or united states armed services veterans of low income in the long island area and/or other populations in the long island area identified by lihbcdc, including by utilizing construction professionals on long island to build, construct, enhance, repair, renovate, rehabilitate and/or improve homes and community facilities on long island to serve the needs of the persons whom lihbcdc assists.
