The mission of the los angeles audubon society is to promote the study and protection of birds, other wildlife, and their habitats throughout the diverse landscapes of the los angeles area, and to stimulate popular interest in an access to nature for all los angeles communities.

Ballona wetlands outdoor education program - a weekly school field trip program brings thousands of students and teachers each year to experience one of the last remaining coastal wetlands in los angeles.

Expenses: $25K

Ballona wetlands discovery walk - the first saturday of every month, laas invites the public to tour the wetlands. People of all ages get a chance to view life in the wetlands using microscopes, binoculars and spotting scopes, and docents lead the way on an exciting hike through natural dune habitat to the ballona channel.
