In fy23-24, survivor justice center served 1,092 survivors (a 6% increase from the previous year). The center secured 99 restraining orders, 100 work permits, and represented over 1,500 legal matters. The center helped protect 179 children from further abuse and trauma through favorable custody, visitation and other family law orders. In addition, the center helped 30 families at risk of homelessness from being unhoused, connecting them to housing resources. The center also provided over 6,000 supportive services to help survivors achieve stability and strengthen community connection. At the end of service, 95% of clients reported feeling more hopeful, 94% felt more confident in themselves and 94% reported having a better relationship with their children.

As a leader in our field, survivor justice center is at the forefront of several initiatives focused on better serving survivors. The center is continuing its work as a lead partner for a sargent shriver civil counsel act project, which provides free legal services to low-income families in high-conflict custody disputes, a large percentage involving domestic violence. The center has also continued to expand its efforts to serve survivors of human trafficking, lead partnerships to improve access to justice for survivors in rural areas, and also lead a collaborative for mental health, disabilities and legal services agencies to promote cross-collaboration and seamless, trauma-informed services for survivors. Finally, the center has expanded its legal advocacy and representation in housing-related matters to prevent survivor homelessness and further traumatization for them and their children.
