Mission
Established in 1980, Loudoun Literacy Council (LLC) provides English language and literacy instruction to adults.
Programs

FAMILY LITERACY PROGRAM: Through the Family Literacy Program ten monthly book packs were delivered to 26 LCPS Head Start/Step classrooms, providing 450 pre-K students with 4,500 books plus parent newsletters and activities.Students also enjoyed weekly in-class book readings. Beyond the classrooms, over 10,000 books were distributed countywidefrom board books for new mothers to high school-level books for summer school students. Additionally, ten story time events were held at local libraries, along with the Fall for Reading event, all promoting the joy and importance of reading. The Family Literacy Program is closing 8/31/2025 in order to focus resources on the growing demands of the Adult Literacy Program.
