To provide a symphony orchestra, and to provide educational and cultural enrichment for the people of greater baton rouge and the state of louisiana.

The louisiana youth orchestras (lyo) seek to supplement and enhance music education in the schools and promote the highest standards of orchestral performance. Lyo is a program of four different ensembles that provide orchestral training through weekly rehearsals. This program services over 150 students ranging in age from 5 to 21.
