The bulk of income and expenses during 2024 pertained to LSC's response to Hurricane Helene needs. The organization received numerous donations to fund feeding, flood clean-up and rebuilding operations in western NC. Funds were spent toward supplies and materials for feeding, flood clean-up and rebuilding, plus homeowner grants were given for other materials or services our organization was not completing (e.g., licensed electrical work or crawlspace restoration work). Other funds received were specifically for equipment purchases, and additional vehicles, trailers and equipment were purchased to aid in the responses. In addition, undesignated funds were received to go toward routine operations of LSC, such as insurance premiums on equipment.
