KENYA: Through our partner, Nyashep Education Trust in Nairobi, Kenya, tuition support is provided to exceptional high school and college students from underprivileged backgrounds.
MADAGASCAR: In partnership with other agencies and NGOs, the communities in and around Anevoka are provided educational and livelihood opportunities. Specifically, more that 500 students annually benefit from lessons taught by our educators as part of the Little Green Guards education program. More than 100 women earn extra income through our GEM program.
OTHER: Support ($9,070) of a mature project in Nepal designed to deliver effective conservation education programs, scientific research and community development in rural areas with high biodiversity. In Nepal over 60,000 students have participated in the program. College volunteers (> 100 since inception) design social and biological surveys needed to conduct the scientifically-based gap analysis necessary to design effective education and awareness campaigns targeted at saving threatened wildlife and critical habitats. Support ($7,971 including $500 in grants) in the US of students to conduct independent conservation research projects, in particular on degradation of coral reefs
