Lynchburg community action group, inc. Is a nonprofit corporation organized to carry out community action programs which are generally funded by revenue from agency programs and grants from local, state and federal agencies. Such grants usually requires compliance with prescribed grant conditions and other special requirements, including the furnishing of certain amounts of cash or noncash contributions.
Programs

Weatherization. This past year lyncag's weatherization program completed a total of 48 projects in lynchburg and campbell county. The weatherization deferral repair program served numerous clients and receives applications for this service daily. Services provided through this program include installing energy savings measures such as insulation, hvac repair and replacement, air sealing and safety testing. Several funding sources are available for this service, including bil, liheap and doe.
Employment services. Lyncag's employment services provides job readiness skill and supportive services to tanf eligible individuals. Working with our community partners, we coordinate training and skill building in health care field, hospitality and cdl. Clients receive assistance with resume development, soft skills, job searches, etc. Clients are supported by providing bus passes, work attire and tools and any other assistance that increases their chances of successfully completing the training and acquiring employment. Last year more than 100 individuals were served.
Lyncag has over 40 other separate grants which relate to housing, child care, and client assistance.
